DIAGNOSTICS

Electronic Diesel Diagnostics

Canobolas Diesel and Turbo  has all the diagnostic tools and experience to help keep your vehicle running smoothly.

When something is not functioning correctly and your vehicle is not performing as it should or worse still your Check Engine warning light comes on and derates your engine to a 'limp home' mode, we are the experts to diagnose and get you back on track.

We understand the complex network of electronics and how they integrate together to form the lifeline of operating systems in the modern vehicle.

Our training, using  we believe the most advanced automotive oscilloscope made in Holland, allows us to accurately’ and confidently focus on identifying the problem. We don't rely on guessing. We don't google the experts or resort to what we call 'swapnostics', where lesser educated repairers simply keep swapping parts until they stumble upon the fix, or not. We will endeavour to test, measure  and justify why a component may be faulty and be replaced.

A scan tool reading a fault code is not diagnostics. In our experience with thorough’ understanding of different diesel fuel systems and their electronics has proven that some codes may have several causes, and the actual fault may not even lie with what the code indicates.

Canobolas Diesel and Turbo uses the latest and up to date equipment, including

  • Scan tools from Launch and Bosch. Our choice of digital PC based oscilloscopes from Tie Pie we have been using solely from 2004 (currently single, 2 and 4 channel).

  • The 2wd chassis dynomometer from Mainline assists us greatly to confirm low power complaints without guessing, and is comforting to see the printed proof of power and torque graphs.

  • Our common rail injector test bench allows us to test the latest injectors and print out results to see if the injectors may be not functioning correctly or if there is actually a problem elsewhere.

We liken ourselves to being the surgeons in our field of modern diesel diagnostics and not a GP like your usual mechanic that performs great services or the auto electrician who is good at what they have always specialised in.
